Sandbank Community Summer Planting

A number of local kids recently became even more eco friendly and got involved in planting out the summer bedding plants at the various metal planters around the village. A big thank you to all who helped -  especially the kids.

Play Park Update Play-park Update

New Hoops

At the time of writing this article you will have noticed that work has started on the Play-park with the construction and erection of the Ball court. It was agreed to start on this facility so that the older children were catered for as the play equipment already there caters for the younger ones, up to a point. The Trust has run into difficulties in obtaining the rest of the funding with ‘red tape’ issues as to whether we are classed as a Rural community or not. We were hoping to get the majority of the funding from monies put aside for Rural communities but we were recently informed that we were in fact an Urban community because of our distance from Dunoon. At present we are fighting tooth and nail to have this decision overturned because we consider ourselves to be a Rural community, and we will keep you informed of our progress. Read More....
